The old 2.9% + $0.50 processing fee only applies to listings that have not been created or updated since January 6, 2025. Edit an old listing and it moves to the current fees.
Worked example
You sell a jacket for $40.00 and the buyer pays $7.00 shipping:

Mercari takes $4.70. If you offer free shipping instead, the selling fee is only on the item price, but the label cost comes out of your earnings. Put it in the label cost box to compare.

Other Mercari charges
- Cancellations: sellers who cancel often pay 5% of the item price, capped at $25.
- Authentication: Mercari Authenticate costs $5, and an authentication certificate costs $10.
- Failed deposit: $2 if a bank transfer bounces.

10% of the item price plus whatever the buyer pays for shipping. On a $20.00 item with no buyer paid shipping that is $2.00.
Does Mercari still charge a payment processing fee?
Not on listings created or updated since January 6, 2025. Only older, untouched listings still pay the old 2.9% + $0.50 processing fee.
